Elevated Shoulder Blocking for Back Handspring

Purpose: Learning the back handspring takes time and this progression will help to create an open shoulder technique and help avoid the dreaded pike down.  Using the Launch Pad and some soft mats like the Pit Pillow and Bear Mat will help the athlete to keep the open elevated shoulder increasing speed off the floor.

Set up: Pit Pillow, Teddy Bear Mat, Launch Pad, Micro Ramp
