WARM UP & ACTIVITIES

Near Side Pirouette Drill

Purpose: Many athletes fail to reach a complete handstand in a pirouette by beginning the transition too late. Practicing a near-side pirouette on a floor bar and falling to your back on a soft Pit Pillow forces the athlete to begin and finish their turn earlier. This will also make them feel more comfortable when they pirouette on the high bar. 

Set up: Pit Pillow, Frame Bar
